StayCounted is a community voter-assistance project. We collect the minimum needed to prepare your official election forms, we keep even less, and we never sell your information. Here’s the whole picture, in plain language.
What we collect
The registration details you enter on our form: your name, contact details (email and phone), your US voting address, your current address abroad, and the identification details your state requires on the form — the last four digits of your SSN or your driver’s license number, and your date of birth.
What we do with it
We use your information for exactly one purpose — getting you registered and voting:
- Preparing your official election forms.
- Emailing you your documents and status updates at each step of the process.
- Arranging delivery and mailing of your signed forms to your Board of Elections.
- Coordinating with drop-off locations so your form can be collected and mailed.
By submitting your registration, you authorize us to prepare these forms from the details you provide and to deliver them to your election officials on your behalf.
What we deliberately don't keep
The most sensitive details — your SSN digits, your driver’s license number, and your date of birth — are used once to prepare your form and then discarded. They are not stored in our records after your form is generated.
No selling, no sharing
We do not sell your information, and we do not share it with anyone beyond what’s needed to deliver the service — your election officials, the drop-off location handling your form, and the providers we use to send email and generate documents.
How your documents are stored
Generated documents are stored securely and are access-controlled — only the people who need to process your form can reach them.
Your choices
- Deletion: You can request deletion of your information at any time by emailing [email protected].
- Email opt-out: Reply to any of our emails and ask to stop — we’ll stop.
